You put all the work and you get to simulate she’s committed.

Still a committed girlfriend is less devoted than any #4 girl in a rotation. #4 girl wants to escalate and become #1.

#1 girl instead, specially if she’s the only one (or even “the one”) has nowhere to go other than to wonder if she could do better. Or to try to microtune you into fulfilling every possible whim.

There are exceptions but this is the general picture in my opinion.

I just had an errant thought. Roy Rogers probably had a much easier time dealing with Trigger than Dale Evans. To give you the background. Roy and Dale never married but were bonded for life. Trigger was Roy’s horse.
